Carson King, 24, of Altoona, started out at Saturday's Cy-Hawk game with a cheeky sign made in an attempt to get some free beer money.

Now he's donating over $100,000 to the University of Iowa Stead Family Children's Hospital when factoring in the donation matching from Busch Light, the beer he namechecked in his sign, and Venmo, the digital payments app he used to get the donations.

"This is the best thing we have read all year, and we're inspired," Busch Beer wrote in a tweet Tuesday announcing their donation match.

King arrived early Saturday at ESPN's "College GameDay" event hoping to score a little beer money with a sign that read "Busch Light Supply Needs Replenished," along with his Venmo username.

After donations began to pour in, he made up his mind to donate all of the money to a more worthy cause.

Now Busch Light is offering to not only assist him in that goal but will also be helping him get that rack of beer he was initially looking for (and then some) by supplying King a year's worth of free beer.
