Amway Coach's Call of the Week: Texas coach Tom Herman takes home award

Coaches make dozens of decisions in every game. Most of them aren't that noticeable. Some of them very much are.

Some can change a game. Some are just thrilling to watch.

Each week this season, USA TODAY Sports will select four calls from across the nation that we think rank among the best for the Amway Coach's Call of the Week. 

We let you, the fans, decide which call from the four below had the most impact.

Initial voting ended on Monday. The winner among the two finalist was decided on Facebook. 

This week's winner:

Tom Herman, Texas

Oh, what a tangled web we weave when we first practice to deceive. 

On the Oklahoma 2, the Longhorns put wide receiver Lil'Jordan Humphrey behind center. When he received the snap and started to sweep left, the defense was drawn in.

Humphrey then calmly threw over the defense to Collin Johnson to tie the game in the first quarter. Texas would never trail again en route to its upset of the No. 5 Sooners.

Kirk Ferentz, Iowa

Who knew Kirk Ferentz had it in him?

Known for his conservative nature, the Hawkeyes coach appeared to be settling for a field goal on fourth down from the Minnesota 4 and his team up by seven. But with the field-goal unit lined up, there was some trickery to come.

The line moved to the right before the snap. The ball then went to T.J. Hockenson behind that line. The tight end then ran into the end zone for a touchdown.

Mike MacIntyre, Colorado

When in doubt, give the ball to your best player.

That's what Colorado did with Laviska Shenault, the nation's leading receiver. The Buffaloes put him in the backfield with the score tied late in the third quarter.

The result was the eventual game-winning touchdown.

Dan Mullen, Florida

In need of a go-ahead score against a tough defense, you have to pull out all stops.

Feleipe Franks normally the one on the throwing end of passes for the Gators. But roles got reversed when Franks handed to Lucas Krull on a jet sweep.

Franks then sneaked out of the backfield to get wide open. And Krull hit him perfectly. The play got to the LSU 2. The Gators scored on the next play to take down the Tigers.
