Iowa Eight football: Norwalk OT Tyler Endres beats you with versatility, athleticism
Tyler Endres
School: Norwalk
Class: 2019
Height: 6-foot-6
Weight: 285 pounds
Position: Offensive tackle
Key stats: Last season, Endres protected the blind side for a quarterback who threw for nearly 1,500 yards and 18 touchdowns. But Endres played left guard in addition to tackle, serving as Norwalk's best run-blocker and pass-protector.
Why he’s one of the Iowa Eight
Endres caught early recruiting attention with his size and varsity production, but his power and versatility have made him one of the best offensive lineman prospects in the Midwest. He drew rave reviews from Iowa's big man camp in June.
Norwalk utilizes Endres in a variety of ways on offense. His main assignment is protecting his quarterback's blind side, but he also mauls Class 3A competition as a run-blocker. He moves well for his size and can block effectively in space.
Endres, a consensus four-star prospect, is also a tremendous athlete. He's the starting post for Nowalk's basketball team and throws with the track and field team, earning second place in discus at this year's state meet.
Future prospects
Endres committed to Iowa last June over offers from Wisconsin, Minnesota and Iowa State. His recruitment could have surged after the Wisconsin offer, but Endres chose the Hawkeyes five days after receiving the Badgers made their push.

Quotable
"He's not just a big, lumbering guy. He can obviously get around at that size. They ask him to make some blocks in space and he can do that. I'm interested to see what Iowa does with him at the next level. He can probably play right tackle or maybe even guard with the way that he run blocks."
