SONOMA, Calif. — NASCAR radio broadcaster Wendy Venturini suffered a head injury Saturday when she was struck by a car while jogging in Novato, Calif.
Venturini, who was scheduled to work Sunday’s NASCAR race at Sonoma Raceway as a pit reporter for the Performance Racing Network, suffered a skull fracture and concussion, according to PRN president Doug Rice.
She was admitted to Marin General Hospital.
"I talked to her a couple of times today, and she’s doing OK," Rice said. "The doctor told her she’d be in the hospital for a couple of days and be out of commission for a while, but she’s going to be fine."
Rice said Venturini was hit by a car as it was leaving a parking lot.
