IOWA CITY, Ia. — The Hawkeyes have added their sixth 2019 recruit.

Sebastian Castro, a safety out of Oak Lawn, Illinois, committed to Iowa on Wednesday afternoon. He announced his decision via Twitter.

The 247Sports Composite gives Castro, 6-foot-1 and 195 pounds, three stars and ranks him the No. 77 safety in 2019. Rivals gives Castro three stars and ranks him the No. 30 safety in the class.

Iowa football head coach Kirk Ferentz watches the team during a spring football practice on Wednesday, March 28, 2018, at the Iowa football performance center in Iowa City.

Iowa offered Castro at its junior day last year, when he was a sophomore. At the time, he held three other offers from Iowa State, Minnesota and Syracuse. Indiana offered a couple months later. After a strong junior season, Castro picked up several more Group of Five offers, but he always felt like a guy Iowa could and should land.

Castro joins in-state linemen Tyler Endres (Norwalk), Ezra Miller (Ridge View) and Noah Fenske (New Hampton), as well as Cedar Falls linebacker Jack Campbell and Orion (Illinois) tight end Logan Lee as Iowa's current 2019 class.
