Former Iowa running back Akrum Wadley showed up at the NFL Scouting Combine hoping to turn in a 40-yard dash time around 4.4 seconds.

Wadley did not hit that blazing time on Friday, but he was solid in the forty.

He tallied an unofficial time of 4.59 seconds in his first run and 4.54 seconds in his second run.

"Wadley's a good back from Iowa," NFL Network analyst Mike Mayock said.

Wadley finished his career with 3,872 rushing yards and 35 touchdowns. He’s just one of four running backs to post back-to-back 1,000-yard seasons at Iowa. Wadley tallied 3,904 all-purpose yards.

Iowa senior running back Akrum Wadley breaks through the grasp of Nebraska linebacker Collin Miller in the Hawkeyes' first touchdown of the day on Friday, Nov. 24, 2017, at Memorial Stadium in Lincoln, Neb.

The biggest question surrounding Wadley has been his weight. Iowa coach Kirk Ferentz had continually harped on Wadley needing to gain some in order to handle the wear and tear of the NFL.

Wadley showed up to the Senior Bowl weighing just 188 pounds. But Wadley proudly showed off a new frame when he arrived at Indianapolis, weighing 194 prounds

"He's a tough kid," Mayock said. "A really tough kid."
