IOWA CITY, Ia. — Florida has extended an offer to Iowa City West receiver Oliver Martin, his father told HawkCentral on Thursday.

This blue-blood offer is likely a result of Martin's stellar performance at practice leading up to last week's U.S. Army All-American Bowl in San Antonio, Texas — as well as fellow SEC powerhouse Auburn offering Martin a few weeks ago.

Playing with 99 of the best high school seniors in the country, Martin was regularly listed among the top performers in the week of practice.

West High's Oliver Martin lines up for a play during the Trojans' game against Linn-Mar in Marion on Friday, Oct. 14, 2016.

Here's what 247Sports' Barton Simmons wrote after Day 1:

"Don't sleep on Martin because the second he catches you snoozing he's past you for a deep touchdown. That's because Martin runs great routes, (he) has outstanding athleticism and he catches everything."

And after Day 2:

"Martin found the end zone on a Tate Martell pass during the 7on7 period and he was sharp throughout the one-on-ones too. You can't even hear the ball touch his hands when he catches it. He's just a natural."

Inside Oliver Martin's uneasy life at the top

According to 247Sports, Florida has one 2017 wide receiver commit: four-star recruit Daquon Green, who 247Sports ranks the No. 26 receiver in the class.

The Gators finished this season 9-4 with a 30-3 win against Iowa in the Outback Bowl.

Martin is slated to take an official visit Friday to Michigan State. Athletes are granted five official school visits throughout their recruiting process; Martin has previously taken official visits to Notre Dame and Iowa, which would leave two official visits remaining after this week's trip to Lansing, Mich.

Players have until signing day, on Feb. 1, to make their decision.

247Sports lists Martin as a four-star prospect, the No. 11 receiver in the class and the No. 1 prospect in the state of Iowa. He now holds offers from: Auburn, Florida, Iowa, Notre Dame, Michigan State, Michigan, Oregon, Wisconsin, Indiana, Minnesota, BYU, Illinois, Vanderbilt, Central Michigan, Eastern Michigan and Western Michigan.

Martin leaves West as the state's all-time receptions leader (239) and Class 4A's all-time leader in receiving yards (3,449) and receiving touchdowns (33). Martin led Iowa prep football this year with 1,272 receiving yards on 85 catches. He caught 14 touchdowns and scored on a punt return and a kick return.
