The Iowa men’s basketball program entered the weekend with just one commitment for the Class of 2017. By Sunday evening, two more gave their verbals to coach Fran McCaffery.

Iowa head coach Fran McCaffery secured two commitments over the weekend for the Hawkeyes' Class of 2017.

Jack Nunge, a four-star power forward out of Castle High School (IN), announced that he would be attending Iowa on his personal Twitter account. He joins Luka Garza, a four-star center, in pledging his commitment this weekend.

The 6-foot-9, 185-pound Nunge is considered No. 6 overall player in the state of Indiana, and held offers from Nebraska, Toledo and Vanderbilt, among others.

“Excited that I will be attending the University of Iowa,” Nunge wrote.

Nunge and Garza join Connor McCaffery, the coach's son, as Iowa’s three commitments for the Class of 2017. His addition boosted the Hawkeyes to eighth nationally — and fourth in the Big Ten Conference — in 247Sports’ composite team rankings..
